WorldVentures Core Values – Mike Azcue & Wayne Nugent

Over this past weekend we completed our largest training in Nashville for over 7,000 people in attendance.  One of the sections that was the main feature of the weekend was when Mike Azcue and Wayne Nugent, Co-Owners of WorldVentures each on their separate keynote presentations went through some of their Core Values that make up what WorldVentures means to them.  I just wanted to share these values with everyone as a sign of being at the right place at the right time!  Wayne Nugent and Mike Azcue embody these Core Values and pass them along to everyone in their lives, not only for business values but also values to live your day to day life.

WorldVentures Core Values as taught by Mike Azcue & Wayne Nugent

1. Live fun, freedom and fulfillment
Look for ways to integrate more fun, freedom and fulfillment into everything we do.
Happiness and fulfillment precede success; they are not the byproducts of success.
Strive to be fun, creative, adventurous and courageous. We believe you should work
and live with passion, which can only benefit your productivity. We are each an
extension of our brand. Our mission is to bring fun, freedom & fulfillment to the world.
The degree to which we embrace and integrate this principle into our lives is directly
related to our ability to deliver our mission to the world.

2.  We are one big team.
Foster synergistic partnership and co‐creation. WorldVentures is made up of a
corporate staff and Representatives in the field. Exercise an inclusive, abundant
approach with every team member and partner, valuing individuality. Seek input

of safety to support contribution and authenticity, creating space for every voice to
be heard, independent of title. Welcome all cultures, religions, ages, races, shapes
and sizes in alignment with our Core Values.

3.  Honor and body and expand trust.
Be authentic and transparent. Be congruent in thought, words and deeds.
Be accountable and responsible. Everyone is responsible and no one is to
blame. Keep promises and honor commitments. Strive to build a reputation
of exceeding expectations. Only represent the truth.

4.  Deliver and promote excellence.
Have a steadfast focus on providing the highest value and the highest‐quality experience.

5.  Commit to resolution.
There is always a resolution. Problems are only challenges looking for
answers. Be creative in sourcing solutions and seek support when needed.

6.  Care and contribute.
Be humane and compassionate.  Promote peace, harmony and love.
Give back, serve, add value and make a difference.

7.  Champion full potential.
Commit to continuous growth and learning. Solicit feedback from others and
look for constructive lessons in personal experiences. Always be evolving.
Empower others and help them see their greatness. Seek out opportunities
to build up others through sincere appreciation and acknowledgment of their
actions and gifts. Appreciate and learn from others’ unique differences.
We are creating a culture free of politics or sabotage of others’ goals
(i.e., jealousy or resentment of upline, downline or sideline). Edify everyone
involved in WorldVentures, regardless of their goals or success in business.

8.  Embrace creativity and innovation.
Imagine new possibilities and change.  Change is the only constant.
The more you can embrace the change the more that we are going to
stay on the edge and stay competitive.

9.  Foster safe and open communication.
Communicate for new possibilities, understanding, resolution and
positive action. Promote open communication, have crucial conversations
at “Point Easy” (i.e., “I’d like to have an open communication with you.”).
Practice authenticity and transparency. Speak the truth early, sensitively
and often with each other (support, constructive feedback and appreciations, etc.).

10.  Insure attainability in mind..
Make decisions with sustainability in mind: sustainable business practices,
relationships, energy, health, etc. Model high‐level health, functionality and
well‐being. Look for ways to do more with less.

So SUMMER is finally over!

Well although it might not feel like it in Texas, but yes Summer is finally coming to an end.  It has been an incredible summer for myself and I actually wrote this blog to hear from you, what was your favorite memory of the summer of 2011?

It’s always great to see what everyone writes for some people it’s traveling outside or inside the US.  For others it’s a special weekend with family where everyone got together last minute and had a great time.  Maybe you just stayed at home and enjoyed relaxing at the pool on weekends!  Who knows?  I remember when I was young, I would be counting the days until school ended and summer break started.  I had family in Odessa, TX & Stephenville, TX which if you’ve been anywhere in West Texas in the summer it’s pretty much the one place in the world you DO NOT want to visit.  But it wasn’t Del Rio, so in my mind I was getting away from home.  But now looking back on it, it wasn’t necessarily the fact that I was traveling to Odessa or Stephenville which got me excited but who I was going to be hanging out with during that time, my cousins!  It was just so much fun to hang out and do fun stuff with my cousins, whether it was hanging out and laughing or just goofing off those memories will stay with me forever!  So with that being said, I don’t think that it really matters where you go to during summers or down time, however what does matter is who you’re with.

I’ve been blessed this summer to hang out with great friends in the US, outside of the US and also just here at home!  For me one of the tope highlights of my summer was taking my girlfriend Melinda on her first DreamTrip with WorldVenturesAnd you might be saying her first Dreamtrip, I always see you traveling here and there together, and yes we do travel a lot but several of those times its for work.  It could be a training seminar that we’re doing in Vegas or New York, Palm Springs, Orlando which are also beautiful destination spots.  And we do manage to take time out and have fun during those trips, it’s still work.  But this summer I was able to take her to Jamaica, which was amazing!  We checked in and got to our suite and we were directly in front of the ocean on the 2nd floor, literally every morning we’d wake up and see the sun rise and the sun set right off of our balcony and for me, just seeing her HUGE smile everyday and tell me she never wanted to leave there, well that was at the top of my magical moment during the summer!

Then another highlight that was pretty cool was visiting Athens for the first time, being able to see all of the historical places like the Colosseum and Parthenon was really cool!  Here’s a video that my buddy Dave Ulloa made of the trip to Greece at a club there called Villa Mercedes, which is the hottest club and most poplular club in all of Greece!  The night before we were able to check out David Guetta which was DJ’ing there and it was again a first and something that I’ll never forget!

In mid-May we went out to LA for a week for a convention where several public speakers, authors and networkers meet called SANG.  It was cool because we stayed right down in the middle of Hollywood, we were literally about 2 minutes from the Roosevelt Hotel, so each night we would head out to all of the LA hotspots that were there, but we closed off that trip with a weekend cruise down to Ensenada Mexico, which was also a cool little treat.  We were taken around Venice Beach by my good friend Mike Putman and hit several hotspots and just amazing places right in front of the beach.  It was so much fun!   Another highlight for me this summer was going down to Del Rio and hanging out with some of my family that I had not seen since I was about 10 years old!

So in closing, I’d like to know what some of your favorite memories were of the summer!  Maybe you did something I didn’t do but I want to do!  Share your favorite memory but like a good friend once had told me is that life is all about creating memories.  Memories with those people that are close to you, those people that share your same wants and that help you want more out of life!

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” – Saint Augustine

This is a quote that I had not heard about until I met my very good friend Wayne Nugent, Co-Owner of WorldVentures.  I have been very blessed to come across WorldVentures through Marc Accetta being their Director of Training.  I’ve seen amazing places throughout the world.

As I am sitting here writing this, my girlfriend and I just got back from an amazing trip out to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  She had never visited any of the islands in the Carribbean Sea nor Jamaica so it was such a thrill for me to be able to give her that first gift of experiencing walking along the sea and putting her feet in the sand and just creating those great memories for her and for both of us.

I still remember when I was small my dad getting me this book that had all these pictures of islands and various places throughout the world and just explaining a bit about them and why go there.  Growing up we really didn’t take that many vaccations, most vacations were that of visiting family throughout Texas.  And it wasn’t until after I graduated high school that I got to do a bit more traveling while playing with the bands I was with.  I still remember my first trip to Vegas and just being amazed that everyone was always awake 24/7 or so it seemed to me, I honestly thought that the Lion at MGM Grand was made of 24 karat gold.  LOL, but I feel truly blessed that my parents always would let me dream big and never put limitations on how crazy I would think.  I was never told that I couldn’t do anything.  Not that I was spoiled and given everything I ever asked for, but they taught me that I could acquire whatever I wanted through hard work and persistence.  I feel blessed to have such great parents in my life and through their actions also show me that anything was possible.   I want to go back and look for that book…because I feel that everything happens for a reason.  God placed me right where I needed to be at the exact time in order to experience life at its fullest.   I just wanted to write a quick blog to let everyone know that EVERYONE should travel and create great memories with your friends, families and those that are special in your life…Here’s some videos of the places I’ve been lucky enough to visit….make sure and check out my YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/monicoperez.  Let me know some other places that you’ve visited to that perhaps I haven’t gotten a chance to visit.  I’d love to know!

Let me know what are some of your favorite places that you’ve been to…

How travel makes you smarter, sexier and more productive

How travel makes you smarter, sexier and more productive – Lonely Planet blog.

Original Post by  Robert Reid – author

Why do we travel? Just a hunch here: because it’s fun. Plus we have to occasionally pay a visit to Uncle Greg in Minneapolis or attend that conference on soybean research your boss makes you go to every year. But, at the same time, travel can pay off in many ways, and science backs it up.

Here are the four main ways that travel can improve your life:

1. Travel makes you younger

David Eagleman, recently profiled as ‘The Possibilian’ in the New Yorker, studies time perception at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and has made many experiments regarding how life-threatening moments feel slowed down.

Travel to new places has always felt like stretched time to me too; a week in Guatemala seems to last as long as three weeks in the Outer Banks – in a good way. So I asked him, for my recent CNN piece on travel to new destinations, whether science can back up my gut reaction.

Eagleman told me adults’ sense of time is more ‘compressed’ than children’s, but that travel to new or ‘novel’ places – the more exotic, the better – is an equalizer of sorts. ‘It essentially puts you, neurally, in the same position as when you were a child.’

Travel: the fountain of youth! And, with its perceived time-stretching possibilities, a life-saver even if you only take a week or two for vacation this summer.

2. Travel makes you smarter

It’s an old cliché that travel broadens your mind. I’d scoff if it weren’t true. A recent psychological study at Indiana University found students had broader answers when they thought the study was imported from Greece, rather than homegrown. What the researchers call ‘psychological distance’ – what we might call ‘armchair travel’ – increases your creativity. A recent review of the psychological distance concept, suggests that travel, or even planning travel and imagining yourself in an unfamiliar and distant location, might not just improve creativity but self-awareness as well.

William Maddux, an American social psychologist, studies how those who live abroad come home more creative too. He told me by phone that ‘immersion’ in a place is key – one of the reasons, he says, he’s working in France.

‘It all depends on someone’s mindset when traveling’, he said. ‘Are they really open to it? If not, and all they do is sit and watch TV, it probably won’t make them more creative… And you don’t necessarily have to cross a border either. What’s more similar New York and Toronto, or New York and Savannah?’

3. Travel makes you more productive

Americans’ relative lack of holiday time is sometimes defended as a strong ‘work ethic’, and a reason the country is so productive. But is it?

This fun Businessweek slideshow shows how many countries’ economic output rivals the US, with far less work time. France, for example, takes off 60% more days off (40 compared to the USA’s 25), and records 98% GDP per hour worked. While the USA remains the world’s top ‘competitive’ country, runner-up, Switzerland, nearly matches the US mark with a week more vacation time.

Some argue taking extended time is even better. In a TED Video on taking sabbaticals, graphic-designer Stefan Sagmeister illustrates how he plans a one-year break from work to ‘experiment’ every seven years simply to generate new ideas.

4. Travel makes you sexier

It’s not just a tan you return with, but stories. According to one recent ItsJustLunch.com survey, the best first-date conversation topic was hobbies, with travel following second. Somehow manage to combine the two, and brace yourself Romeo. Just be sure to have exchanged your Paraguayan guaraní into dollars before the bill arrives.

And if travel has already done its job by making you more creative, youthful, self-aware and productive, you’re bound to be looking pretty good out there.

Less than 45 days away…..

Yep in less than 45 days we’ll be once again at our biggest training event of the year, A View from the EdgeMarc Accetta has taken this training to an entirely new level since I first started working with him on this event.  Never in a million years would I have imagined that he’d be flying through the air or we’d be blowing stuff up, bringing in live animals, making it snow on stage, fire, pyrotechnics and so many other great effects throughout the show.  This year we’ll be moving our show to Allen, TX.  Which is the perfect spot in my opinion not only for the show but also for the attendees in WorldVentures.  This new area in Allen is up and coming and is already considered one of the great spots for nightlife, food and entertainment throughout Collin County.  So it’s a perfect match for our yearly event.

The site we’ll be having our event will be at the Allen Event Center, which hosts a vast mixture of all kinds of entertainment from ice hockey games, concerts, gymnastics and now A View from the Edge.

We are already steadily planning for this years event in order to step it up a notch and make it bigger and better than last years event.   Check out some clips from last years, A View from the Edge.

There were so many great characters last year and believe it or not we’ve gotten request to do some of the characters but we still haven’t finalized our list yet.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU….

Tens of thousands of customers, able to take better vacations, more often, have realized such benefits as decreased stress, higher work satisfaction, and improved personal relationships, on top of the basic financial savings they enjoy. Life is Good!

Well here we are just a couple of days after my 32nd birthday and man oh man, has it been an exciting past couple of days.  It all started off on the right foot when we were out in New Jersey for a WorldVentures Acceleration Training, which it’s always awesome to visit the east coast and just get to see the sites, eat the food and people watch.  At this training it was awesome because it was the first time that Ex-NFL Denver Bronco Gerald Willhite took the stage.  And to say that he delivered is an understatement…he is one of the most powerful trainers that WorldVentures has.  He concluded his speaking on Sunday with a ride down memory lane allowing everyone to see some of his high light reels from when he played for the Denver Bronco’s and man this guy is ruthless on the field.  Also we got an invitation to go and eat at Tribeca Grill which is owned by Robert DeNiro.   WOW is that place good, nestled within the Greenwich Village and only blocks down from Ground Zero, it was truly an East Coast Treat.  From there we headed to the opposite side of the US out to Burbank, California for our 2nd Acceleration Training headed by Marc Accetta, featuring Kari Schneider, Byron Schrag and Troy Brown.  This team of trainers just kept on setting the bar higher and higher and for anyone in attendance can definitely tell you, if you missed Burbank, YOU HONESTLY MISSED OUT ON SOME GREAT INFORMATION.  Each one of these WorldVentures Acceleration Trainings offer amazing building tools for people that are either starting off their business or are networking veterans.  Don’t miss May in Kansas City!

As many of you know, I work directly with Marc Accetta (www.MarcAccetta.com) and for the past couple of weeks we have been working diligently on giving his website a brand new facelift.  Not that the old site was not good because it was, but there were several details that we had wanted to update.  For instance, before we used to have a video section that members could log into and view personal growth videos that Marc Accetta would do, now we still have that section with all brand new videos and we’ve named it MarcTV, the great thing about this section is that it is completely and totally FREE for everyone to view and share with their friends.  With the technology of video sharing and posting, we’ve allowed all visitors to not only view all of the videos but also allow them to share them on Facebook, Myspace, YouTube and several other Social Networking sites that are out there.  We have had a lot of visitors and repeat visitors based on the fact that Marc Accetta  is one of the few Success Coaches out there that offers a FREE Personality Test that allows you to not only take the test online but then gives you your results immediately and allows you to go through and allow Marc Accetta himself to explain what each one of the personalities means and between updating the site and working on our normal Acceleration Trainings with WorldVentures to say that we had little time for play was an understatement.  Luckily we were able to get in a little bit of play.

Thanks to Mike Putman, President of Rovia, he invited me and my girlfriend to a weekend getaway to hang out in Vegas for the weekend, alongside his wife and our friend Robert Shultz.

I am definitely no stranger to Las Vegas myself but hadn’t had an opportunity to stay or visit the Encore property until now and wow is this property in a category of its own.  Most properties throughout Las Vegas have the similar sections with their buffets, casino floors, pools, shops, etc. however, Encore is in a league of it’s own.  Right from the get go, we started having fun and some “Red Watson’s”, if you haven’t gotten a chance to try this drink…I definitely suggest you try it!  It was just another great time that we all had there in Las Vegas throughout the day and then into the evening as we went out to The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay and finished off the night at XS Nightclub at the Encore.  The entire weekend was just a breath of fresh air, I don’t think I had been on a non-work related trip in about 3 years, Saturday included more of the same fun, gambling and site seeing that I hadn’t gotten a chance to do in a while.  That night we met up with friends from Las Vegas, Tim & Hali Gillin and Robert & Susan Sprauge which are recently became engaged so it was a semi-celebration of their engagement.  But we went out to Nobu for dinner which has some of the most amazing sushi I have ever had and finished off the night at PURE in Ceasar’s Palace.  My cousin which for some reason always manages to be in Las Vegas when I am there works for www.Tickets4AnyEvent.com  and was there for several shows taking care of clients and in return took care of us at PURE that night, we had a blast till about 8am and still managed to catch our flights out on Sunday.

Then it was back to Dallas for a quick trip before we headed out to Philadelphia to see Denis Leary, which I know some of you already know I had seen him earlier this year at his Rescue Me Comedy Tour here in Dallas,TX.  But being that it was going to be his last show of the year and also Marc and Kelly Accetta were going to be out in Philadelphia for business, I figured Me and Melinda would get tickets and fly out to meet them in the evening after their business affairs for some laughter.  Little did I know that I would have an opportunity to not only check out Denis Leary’s last show of the tour but also get to see Bruce Springsteen and eat a famous Philly Cheese steak from the famous Pat’s King of Steaks, (http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/index.html) all within a quick 2 day trip.

Pat's Philly Cheese Steak

I have always heard of how many fans Bruce Springsteen has out towards the East Coast and if I ever had the opportunity to go and see him in concert East Coast would be the place to do it.  Growing up I followed The Boss but not as hardcore as some people that know every word to every song.  Besides I knew all of the famous MTV songs, Glory Days, Dancing in the Dark, Born in the USA.  Not until I met and began to work with Marc Accetta that I started knowing a couple of other songs that I began to enjoy.  So when presented with the opportunity to see Bruce Springsteen out in Philly…I was so excited.  It’s so awesome to see that Marc not only talks the talk but also walks the walk.  Here I see him at several seminars telling individuals to Work Hard and Play Hard but never did I imagine that he would take time out of his business schedule to come down and take me to my first ever Bruce Springsteen concert.  And from the 1st note it was just incredible to see someone take such control of the stage and the audience with every song, every note, every word that came out of Bruce.  E Street Band was also in full effect just being as amazing as people had told me they were.  Being a drummer myself, I was excited to see Max Weinberg take the stage and do what he does best behind that drumset.

As the long-time drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band (1974-1989) Weinberg has performed for millions of people around the world and been featured at many prestigious events, including the 1993 and 1997 Presidential Inauguration Galas, the 1995 Grammy Awards and the 1995 Gala Concert for the dedication of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, where he rejoined his former group. Called “the rhythmic backbone of the E Street Band,” by Robert Palmer of The New York Times, Weinberg was invited to perform in the East Room of the White House in December 1996 and served as the music director for Comic Relief 8 starring Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams at Radio City Music hall in New York City. (http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Max_Weinberg.html)

And with a couple of days left before my 32nd birthday I can honestly say that God has blessed me in several ways throughout my life, from giving me wonderful parents and family, allowing me to fulfill one of my life long dreams of touring nationwide and recording with a major record label, allowing me the opportunity to see the world but the main thing that I am thankful for after 32 years of life is having the blessing of all my friends.  I have come across so many wonderful people throughout my life that have allowed me in their lives and showed me how to enjoy life and live life to the fullest.  Here’s to everyone I’ve ever been lucky enough to share a conversation or smile with…Love ya!
